Time for a close shave as Sweeney Todd comes to Morecambe
Todd, played by John Beamer, and Lovett, played by Emily Prescott, popped into to the barbers on Marine Road ahead of the Morecambe Warblers production of Sweeney Todd the musical.
Featuring one of Sondheim’s darkest and most intricate scores, this musical follows Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, as he returns from Australia to the streets of London seeking revenge against those who separated him from his wife and child.

There is a twist in the story which can only lead to a heartbreaking conclusion.
The wonderful music of Sondheim is shown so delightfully in “the ballad of Sweeney Todd”, “The worst pies in London” and the more intense “Epiphany.”
There are also very clever comic songs such as “By The Sea” and “A Little Priest” which provide exciting and witty lyrics.
