Beat bogus callers by raising awareness
PCSO Paula Winder of the Lancaster Neighbourhood Policing team put together a project called ‘Safeguarding the elderly and vulnerable’ and approached LANPAC (Lancashire Partnership against Crime) for funding.
PCSO Winder said: “The project was accepted and I have gained funding which was used to obtain the Bogus Caller packs, which contain a door mirror, a letterbox sticker and police and Crimestoppers numbers.

Hide Ad“The project is aimed at reducing crime around bogus callers, as well as improving confidence .
“It also safeguards vulnerable people whilst raising awareness of the increasing problem of bogus callers.”
The packs were handed out Vale View Day Centre in Lancaster.
