Cash to help Morecambe and Lancaster flood victims
Householders can apply for up to £5,000 to protect their homes from future flooding e.g. to replace flood barriers, move electricity sockets higher up or replace doors and windows with a water resistant alternative.
Flood affected businesses who have their trading disrupted can get back on their feet with funding equivalent to £2,500 and there is also money to help farmers restore their land.

Local lauthorities have also been given more than £500 for each household affected by flooding; for example to help with temporary accommodation. This money is available through the Government Community and Business Recovery scheme.
These measures were confirmed by Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, in a letter to David Morris, MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale. Mr Morris said that while most of the funding is administered by local authorities, anyone in the constituency is welcome to contact his office for help with applying.
