Close to decision on new council chief
Lancaster City Council will move a step closer towards appointing a new chief executive next week.
A special task force of councillors, chaired by council leader Eileen Blamire, will meet on Tuesday morning to make a final recommendation on Mark Cullinan’s replacement.
The full council will then meet on Wednesday night when they are expected to approve the name and agree to make a job offer to the successful candidate.
Mr Cullinan, who has been chief executive of Lancaster City Council since 2000, will retire in the summer.
