Ex-mayor in role for Red Cross charity
The former mayor of Lancaster Susie Charles has been appointed president of the British Red Cross in Lancashire.
In the voluntary role she will help promote the charity’s work and raise funds to help people in crisis in the county.
Susie, who lives near Lancaster, was the city’s mayor in 2014-15 and she has been a councillor on Lancaster City Council since 1999.
