Keep paying for PCSOs begs police boss
Clive Grunshaw wrote to the town council to thank them for paying for six Police Community Support Officers in Morecambe.
Morecambe town council’ is expected to rubber stamp another year of funding for the officers, who assist local police in tackling crime.

Hide AdMr Grunshaw, whose role includes setting the budget for Lancashire police, has ring-fenced £9.2m funding for 2014/15 to help pay for 335 PCSOs across the county but said he valued the town council’s help.
He wrote: “Without funding from partners such as yourself, I think it is likely that around 70 PCSO roles would be at risk.” A final decision on funding will be made when full council sets the final budget, expected later this month.
