No Garstang split after county election U-turn
An election think tank has changed its mind on original recommendations meaning the town will not be split in a new-look Lancashire County Council.
The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England has now decided to include Nateby in the Wyre Rural East division rather than Wyre Rural Central division, after consulting with local people and groups in Wyre.

In all, the commission proposes that Lancashire be represented by 84 county councillors in the future, the same as today.
Full details of the final recommendations are available on the Commission’s website at www.lgbce.org.uk.
The proposed new arrangements must now be implemented by Parliament. It is expected the new arrangements will come into force at the county council elections in 2017.
