Restrictions on partners attending ultrasound scans and post birth visits at Morecambe Bay hospitals set to ease

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust (UHMBT), which operates the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, said it is now reviewing its policies, and hopes to ease the restrictions shortly.
Sue Smith, OBE, Executive Chief Nurse and Deputy Chief Executive said: "Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic our maternity services have supported a birth partner to attend both in the event of an induction of labour and throughout labour and birth.

Hide Ad"In line with trust and national guidance we have had to restrict visiting in the postnatal period.
"As national restrictions ease we are now reviewing our visiting criteria.
"However in line with national guidance, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic we have been unable to support partners to attend ultrasound scan or ante-natal appointments.
"This is currently under review and we will hope to ease those restrictions shortly.

Hide Ad"However at the moment the current restrictions remain in place in order to safeguard pregnant ladies and staff.
"We will publicise any changes to visiting or ultrasound via our social media sites, our website and on the maternity app."
