Lancaster and Morecambe success at the Lancashire Sports Awards
Georgia Hannam, 16, picked up the Young Achiever Award at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool while Kev Wilson, adult running coach at Lancaster and Morecambe Athletics Club, was named Adult Volunteer of the Year with City of Lancaster Gymnastics Club’s Marie Gardner winning the Coach of the Year gong.
Lancaster Tennis Club’s Junior Organiser, Pat Clelland, also won the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Lancaster Area.

Hide AdHeysham High School pupil Georgia is a member of the North West triathlon academy.
She is currently attending regular national ranking competitions for modern pentathlon to gain a place on the GB team for the European Championships in 2015.
Georgia was also second in the 2012 and 2013 World Biathle Championships.
As well as coaching, Kev has been an active captain of the club’s cross country squad.

Hide AdHe also spares time to support the Junior Development Managers and coaches at their youth athletics events.
Marie picked up her award for her tireless work over a number of years with local gymnasts at the University of Cumbria-based club.
Pat’s award recognises her long-standing commitment to the club especially in her junior tennis coaching and matchplay activities.
There are now more than 100 juniors at the club with the Lancaster team winning the under 14 Fylde league in the summer of 2014.
